ii
kusuri to, warui kusuri comes
with the same purpose as always, like in “dadaism#..” bring a lot
of different things and put all together in the same work.
When
we see the tracks "ii
kusuri" and "warui
kusuri" we
automatically
think they are antagonists,
‘cause of their translations “good medicine,
and bad medicine”.
Even more when you see that the first one is a heavy song, and the
second is a ballad. But this is not what happen. Are songs with too
differents
purposes,
being
that "ii kusuri"
talks about parasitic, or abusive relationships, and “warui
kusuri” is a personal
declaration to
the fans.
Contextualizing
the lyrics to the songs, the “medicine” of ii
kusuri looks like drugs,
something to anesthetize the reality for some moments, nothing
lasting, not a cure, a palliative. About the “medicine” of warui
kusuri, looks like
something closer to the literal, a bad medicine, that doesn’t work,
something that no matter how much you take, have no effect.
“Yoshiatsu: Once I thought music can’t save the world. What if we can’t even save those who like our band? No matter how much I write, no matter how much I sing, a lot of sad things are happening around us. At a certain point I gave up. But then I started to feel that my fans are worried about me and wait for me, that’s why I’m writing songs again. I go on. [...]”

Alice
in underground
is a soft song (comparing to
the others), with a funny
touch, and very abstract,
that would fit perfectly in
other works like “yume tarareba”,
for example.
To
finish, 2017.07.21の日記
is
a tribut to Chester
Bennington, so beautiful,
which can draw tears from more sensitive souls. Have a simple
refrain, but, with a little,
says a lot, being also very contagious, to sing and to listen.
And you? What you think about the single?
